DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING PROGRAM



PROGRAM PURPOSE:
To assess and provide services for students with hearing loss according to IDEA.


PROGRAM GOALS:
Ensure that every student in the BOCES is hearing and learning to the best of his/her ability.  This includes: screening, diagnostic evaluation/identification, development and implementation of an educational plan, monitoring, collaboration with other parents and professionals, and education regarding hearing conservation


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
Student must be identified with a hearing loss that may or may not be educationally significant or the student must have an at-risk condition for a future auditory disorder.


DISTRICTS INVOLVED:
Any of the 10 districts in the Mountain BOCES who has a student who meets these requirements.

Hearing consultants, Audiologist, Educational Interpreters, and Teaching Assistants
