OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PROGRAM
PROGRAM PURPOSE:
To provide occupational therapy assessments for children ages birth to 21 years and subsequent services, according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.).
PROGRAM GOALS:
To provide interventions to children with deficits in the motor, sensory, or perceptual areas which interfere with their ability to benefit from special education services.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
A child must first qualify for special education services under I.D.E.A. guidelines in order to receive occupational therapy services. Occupational therapy services will be provided to those students who have significant needs identified in the motor, sensory, and perceptual performance areas. These services are to be provided where the interventions would help the student to benefit from his/her educational programs.
