YAMPAH MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL
TEEN PARENT PROGRAM
PROGRAM PURPOSE:
To enable pregnant and parenting teens to work towards a high school diploma, and also to provide a loving and nurturing environment for their children.
PROGRAM GOALS:
The focus of the students school experience is successful parenting, vocational exploration, and independent living.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
Each student designs an individual program, using the Colorado Model Content Standards, that will meet her individual goals, interests and career explorations. Each student must complete 26 Carnegie units of credit in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and Electives.
DISTRICTS INVOLVED:
YMHS-TPP serves a 4 district consortia; Aspen district #1, Roaring Fork District RE-1, Garfield District RE-2, and Garfield County district #16.
FUNDING SOURCES:
Funding for the YMHS-TPP comes from Per Pupil Operating Revenue from consortia members that have contracted for seats. Additional funding comes from Colorado ChildCare Assistance Program through the Department of Human Services, and from Federal EvenStart.
STAFF INVOLVED:
The YMHS-TPP has 1.75 licensed staff and 4 classified staff.
