YAMPAH MOUNTAIN ALTERNATIVE (should this be in the title a part of the school name?) HIGH SCHOOL
PROGRAM PURPOSE:
To provide a non-traditional (what does this mean?)academic high school serving students who, for whatever reason, have not been successful at their home high school.
PROGRAM GOALS:
To provide a meaningful curriculum that can demonstrate proficiencies in Colorado Model Content Standards and is based on a students learning styles, interests and personal goals.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
Students must complete 26 Carnegie units of study in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and electives. Demonstrate proficiency in 17 portfolio competencies as well as competency in State Standards.
DISTRICTS INVOLOVED:
YMHS serves s 4 district consortia; Aspen District #1, Roaring Fork RE-1, Garfield District RE-2, and Garfield County District #16.
FUNDING SOURCES:
Funding for the YMHS program comes from Per Pupil Operating Revenue from the contributing district. Each district contracts for a specific number of spaces that wish to be served.
STAFF INVOLVED:
The YMHS program has five licensed staff, one .5 administrator (?), two bus drivers and one secretary.
